Uber Technologies has agreed to acquire ezCater, a U.S. platform for catering and workplace meals, in an all-cash transaction valued at US$2.3Bn, the companies announced on October 6, 2026.

Boston-based ezCater lets businesses order from over 140,000 restaurants across the U.S. It covers meetings, events, and recurring enterprise catering, with tools for ordering, food-spend management, and 24/7 customer support. The company is led by Bangladeshi-American CEO Nihad Rahman, who joined as Chief Financial Officer in 2022 after serving as Managing Director at JPMorganChase and in leadership roles at General Electric. Rahman became interim CEO in January 2025 and was appointed CEO in May 2025.

ezCater generated over US$2.5Bn in Gross Bookings over the trailing twelve months, growing in the high teens year-over-year. It is profitable on a non-GAAP operating income basis, and its average order value exceeds US$400.

Uber plans to combine ezCater's catering and B2B operations with Uber Eats and Uber for Business.

With Uber’s reach, we can bring that experience to millions more customers and help restaurants win more of these valuable orders.”

Uber said the combination would let restaurants grow through larger orders and new diners, and give couriers on Uber Eats new opportunities to earn. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
