Newsletter
Dhaka based agritech platform iFarmer has raised US$1.5Mn in working capital financing from Symbiotics, a Switzerland based impact investing platform. The fresh funding will support iFarmer in expanding its agricultural input distribution network through its platform KriShop, strengthening supply chain operations, and improving market linkages between smallholder farmers and institutional buyers.
Founded in 2019, iFarmer has emerged as one of Bangladesh's leading full stack agritech platforms. The company offers an integrated solution that combines embedded finance, digital advisory services, quality input supply, and direct market linkages. It currently works with over 300K+ farmers and 24K+ agricultural retailers across the country.
Symbiotics is a leading market access platform for impact investors focused on emerging and frontier markets. The firm specializes in providing financing solutions that generate both financial returns and measurable social impact in agriculture and financial inclusion.
Fahad Ifaz, co-founder and CEO of iFarmer, said, "This partnership with Symbiotics is an important step in our journey to build the digital and financial infrastructure for agriculture in Bangladesh. Access to working capital is critical for scaling agricultural supply chains. With this investment, we will be able to expand our operations, reach more farmers and retailers, and strengthen market linkages across the agricultural ecosystem."
Aldric Luyt, head of fintech at Symbiotics, added, "This investment reflects our commitment to supporting underserved agricultural communities in Bangladesh. iFarmer’s innovative model improves supply chain efficiency and expands economic opportunities. Our investment will help scale their impact, contributing to more resilient and sustainable food systems."
With this new capital, iFarmer plans to deepen its market penetration, scale KriShop operations, and strengthen its end to end agricultural ecosystem. This marks another milestone for Bangladesh’s growing agritech ecosystem, which continues to attract increasing interest from both local and global investors.
