Markopolo.ai, an AI-powered go-to-market automation platform for consumer brands, has raised US$2Mn in seed funding to expand its operations across Saudi Arabia and the broader MENA region. The round was led by Saudi-based venture capital firm Joa Capital, with participation from Team Ignite Partners and strategic angel investors.
Founded in 2022, Markopolo.ai offers a modular AI agent suite built for marketing and sales automation. Its tools include Mark, an autonomous media buying agent; Nabiq, a scalable AI sales agent for personalized cross-channel outreach; and DeepDive, a real-time social listening and engagement engine.
The company has relocated its headquarters to Saudi Arabia under the National Technology Development Program’s ‘Relocate Program’ and was selected for KAUST’s Taqadam Cohort 8, receiving a US$140K grant. It also won the AI Oasis Hackathon at LEAP 2024 in Riyadh.
“This seed round is more than capital; it’s a battle cry,” said Tasfia Tasbin, CEO and Co-founder of Markopolo.ai. “We’re going full throttle across the MENA region to empower thousands of businesses to outsmart, outcreate, and outgrow the competition. Our mission? Automate growth. Redefine scale.”
Yousef Alyousefi, CEO of Joa Capital, added, “Markopolo.ai is building precisely the kind of company we look to back—globally scalable, deeply technical, and solving a real pain point in how consumer brands grow. We’re proud to support their global expansion and excited to anchor that journey in Saudi Arabia.”
Joa Capital has been an early believer in Markopolo's journey, engaging with the team since 2023. Reflecting on the partnership, Akif Mahmood, Associate at Joa Capital, said, “Our collaboration with the team since 2023 has been truly exciting. Their commitment to product excellence and outstanding customer feedback have further bolstered our confidence in Markopolo's potential. The strategic expansion into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has transitioned from vision to reality.”
The funding follows previous investments from Accelerating Asia, Startup Bangladesh, and DIVC, and supports Markopolo.ai’s alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals around digital transformation and innovation.
