NiaHealth Raises US$4.2Mn to Expand Preventive Health Platform Across Canada
Newsletter
NiaHealth, a Canadian healthtech startup offering subscription-based preventative care services, has raised US$4.2Mn in seed funding. The round was led by Golden Ventures, with participation from The51, Good Future, and angel investors including executives from Klue, Shopify, Fullscript, Fahd Ananta of RoachCap, CIBC Capital Markets, and returning backers Version One Ventures and Wattpad co-founder Ivan Yuen.
Founded by Sameer Dhar (CEO), Tanya ter Keurs (Clinical Director), Mike Goss (COO), and Saif Uddin Mahmud (CTO), NiaHealth provides a direct-to-consumer service combining at-home testing, biomarker monitoring, and clinician consultations. Packages range from CA$299 to CA$1,299 per year and include tests for up to 100+ biomarkers (based on the package) and personalized health summaries verified by clinicians.
The startup emerged from stealth in April 2025 with US$1.8Mn in pre-seed funding and has since expanded operations to all Canadian provinces except Québec. The new funding will support further expansion, product development, and awareness-building as NiaHealth positions itself as a complement to Canada’s public healthcare system.
“We want to make sure that almost every Canadian knows what Nia is, because we can support all Canadians,” said CEO Sameer Dhar. “That’s just an expensive endeavor that we have to keep investing in.
“In just 18 months, Nia has already transformed lives across Canada— and we’re just getting started! With fresh capital and world-class backers behind us, we’re doubling down on building one of the leanest, most ambitious teams in healthcare. Next up: wearables, AI, and more testing – all to become a true health partner for life,” added Saif Mahmud, Co-founder and CTO of NiaHealth.
